Tickets for Bainbridge High School vs Stockbridge High School will be sold only at BHS. Student tickets are $13 and adult tickets are $15. All ticket sales are CASH ONLY, please.  Tickets will be sold at BHS during the following times: Tuesday and Wednesday, November 27th and 28th, from 8 am until 4 pm, and on Thursday, November 29th from 8 am until 3 pm. The ticket booth will be open Friday night in Stockbridge at 5:30 and all tickets will be $15 at the gate. Game time is 7:30 at Stockbridge High School stadium located at 1151 Old Conyers, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.

WCHS vs Bainbridge High School Football LIVE STREAM Information

AllOnGeorgia.com will be live streaming the football game tonight in Wayne County, Jesup.  I was hoping you could spread the word in Bainbridge via Facebook, twitter, email, or whatever means you have so those unable to travel to the game can still watch live tonight.  The link to the facebook page is below and should take fans straight to the live stream, which we typically try to start 30 minutes prior to the game, around 7 or 7:15PM.  Fans can also search on Facebook for AllOnGeorgia Wayne and find the page easily, then select videos.

We typically stream in high quality so those fans with Smart TVs and know how to access facebook via their TV can enjoy high quality, high school football right at home.

REACH Scholarship REACH Scholarship

Three Decatur County students were awarded REACH scholarships at a signing ceremony held at Bainbridge High School on Friday, September 26.  The scholars for 2018-2019 are (L-R) Skylar Jones, Thomas Spooner and LaQuirsten Williams.  During the signing ceremony, the students, parents and guardians, community members and Decatur County School officials pledged to support the students until graduation.  The ceremony consisted of a video message from Governor Deal, congratulations from Representative Darlene Taylor, and inspiration from John Wooden, Assistant Superintendent,  and Tim Cochran, Superintendent.

UGA Vet School for A Day

For students that are interested in learning more about a career in Veterinary Medicine, the University of Georgia Vet School for A Day program will be held on Wednesday, September 19th.  To attend, students will need to submit an application form and recommendation form by Monday, September 3.

Yearbook Distribution

The 2018 yearbooks will be distributed on Friday during lunches.  2018 Seniors can pick their books up in the lobby during this time (11:00-1:00) as well.  If a student is not certain if he/she bought a yearbook, he/she should contact Dr. Chambers prior to Friday.  The best way to do this is via email. If a student wishes to buy a book, Dr. Chambers did order some extras. He/she can bring Dr. Chambers the money (cash or money order before the distribution). They are $60.

Parent Involvement Meeting Friday, June 8

Parents and guardians are invited to participate in the summer School Improvement session which will be held on Friday, June 8 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am.  During the session, we will review and revise the Schoolwide Improvement Plan, Parent Involvement Plan, Parent/Teacher/Student Compact, and determine how the school will budget the 1% set aside funds for Parental Involvement.

Invitation to Participate

Decatur County Schools annually conducts a Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA), reviews and revises our CLIP (Consolidated LEA Implementation Plan) and our Title I Parent and Family Engagement Plan.  The annual review process is discussed at our annual Title I Stakeholder Meetings. Opportunities to attend these meetings will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Decatur County Schools Support Center located at 507 Martin Street in West Bainbridge. There will be two repeated sessions:  11:00 am until 1:00 pm OR 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  All parents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend one of these informational meetings and offer feedback and suggestions.

Mayo Livingston, Senior Rotary Volunteer Service Scholarship & Alfred A. Rogers Rotary Volunteer Service Scholarship

The ROTARY CLUB OF BAINBRIDGE GEORGIA has established two scholarships for graduating seniors to encourage and reward students who demonstrate a steadfast and long-serving spirit of volunteerism:  The Mayo Livingston, Senior Volunteer Service Scholarship and the Alfred A. Rogers Volunteer Service Scholarship.

Student of Integrity Scholarship

Better Business Bureau (BBB) Education Foundation is now offering a scholarship to recognize high school students who personify and communicate ethics in the real world.  High school seniors are encouraged to apply by creating a 90- second video that chronicles the student navigating an ethical dilemma.

Dr. Eric Dueno Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. Eric Dueno Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. Eric Dueno, Professor of Chemistry at Bainbridge State College, by granting a scholarship to a graduating senior who is dedicated to the sport of cross country running. Dr. Dueno was an avid runner with a passion for mentoring students by sharing his love of learning in the classroom and his love of running outside the classroom.

Senior Cap and Gown Information

Cap and Gown Information:  Seniors will be taking cap and gown pictures March 28th and March 29th during the senior meetings with Mr. Mathews.  On Wednesday, rows 3 through the end will take pictures and on Thursday, rows 1 and 2 will take pictures. 

Jr - Sr Prom Information

No tickets are required – entrance is based off a list of ticket holders.  Check in for juniors and seniors will be at the same table.  If you are bringing a non-BHS student as a date, you will have to check in at a separate table.  Your date’s ID will have to be checked (matched with the photo copy in folder).  They do not have to bring an ID in with them since we have a copy.

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students, all schools in Decatur County will be canceled tomorrow, Wednesday January 17th, for students and staff due to the possibility for icy and unsafe road conditions during the morning hours. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but the weather conditions tomorrow are too questionable at this time to jeopardize the safety of our students or our staff.

Football Playoff Ticket Sales

Bainbridge High School will begin selling playoff tickets beginning Thursday morning at 7:30 and will sell until 3:30. Same times for Friday. Decatur County Schools Closed Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th

Parents and Community Members,

The uncertainty of the future track of Hurricane Irma and its potential impact on our area has led us to cancel school for all Decatur County Schools on Monday, September 11th and Tuesday, September 12th. We are hopeful that our area sees very little impact but the uncertainty remains too high to take any chances with the safety of our students and staff. Schools will reopen on Wednesday, September 13th unless developments change at which time we will update you all.  Thank you and be safe.

2016-2017 Purango Yearbook-Friday August 11

The 2016-2017 Purango yearbook will be distributed Friday, Aug. 11 during all four lunches.  Current students will be able to pick up their yearbooks during their lunches in the Bearcat Cafe, and 2017 Seniors can pick theirs up in the high school lobby.  If a student can not pick up his/her yearbook at this time, they will be available from Dr. Chambers any day between 9:30 and 1:00 or between 2:45 and 3:30 in room 6204.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will award a scholarship to a graduating senior that resides in Decatur County that meets the following criteria:

  • Minimum GPA - 3.0
  • Acceptance to a 2-year or 4-year accredited college/university

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of scholastic achievement, community service, a written essay, and one letter of recommendation.
The application deadline is April 30, 2017 - Packets can be printed online or picked up in the Guidance Office.

Boys Basketball Playoff Game

The BHS Boys basketball team will host a play in game against Thomas County Central on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the BHS Gym. The game will begin at 6:00 pm. All tickets are $5.00 each. Regular season reserved seat passes can not be used for this game.

      When a visitor enters the lobby at Bainbridge High School their eyes are naturally drawn to the right, where the ubiquitous trophy case is found. It's like the glint off the trophies act as a siren's wail and the visitor is subconsciously transported to the trophy case in search of something like specks of gold shimmering from the bottom of a creek bed. But the more astute visitor quickly learns the really interesting stories are found not in the trophy case, which is in every high school in the country, but rather from a silent photograph on the opposite wall away from the trophy case. And when the visitor notices this photograph on the wall, it becomes apparent the

Conference Night & No School on Friday

Conference Night is Thursday, November 17 from 4 pm until 6 pm.   Parents are invited to email or phone individual teachers to make conference appointments from 4 pm until 5 pm.  

We will have a traditional Open House afterwards from 5 pm until 6 pm

Due to transportation issues and to allow for to travel to Rome in a safe and timely manner to support our Bearcats, school will be canceled this Friday November 18 for all students, faculty, and staff.

Ticket Sales: BHS Bearcats vs Whitewater Wildcats

The BHS Bearcats will host the Whitewater Wildcats Friday night at Centennial Field.  All tickets are $8.  Tickets will be sold at BHS Wednesday thru Friday from 8 until 3 as well at the ticket booth at Centennial Field beginning at 6 pm. on Friday.

Reserved seat ticket holders must present their reserved seat ticket and the $8 playoff ticket to be admitted to the reserve section.  There are no extra reserved seat tickets for purchase.

PSAT and ASVAB will be administered on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016.

All 10th graders will take the PSAT​ at no cost.  Any 9th and 11th graders interested in taking the PSAT, must sign up in Guidance before Friday, October 21st. Juniors will take the PSAT for National Merit Scholarship. ​The cost is $20.00 due at time of registration.

Technology Fair 2016-17

The Decatur County Technology Fair will be held on December 8th for High School students at the Student Support Center. If any BHS student is interested, please follow the link below to complete the online registration form.  Each student participating will need to complete an online registration form. If participating in a group project, only ONE member of the group needs to complete the online registration form, listing each student’s name in the group (limit 2 students per group) on the form. Application deadline is Friday, November 4th. Categories include: webpage design, videography, robotics, programming/coding, photography, graphic design, animated graphics, multimedia presentation, and 3D modeling. We had a great turn out last year and we are anticipating another one this year.

2016-2017 Purango Yearbooks Arrive on the19th!

The 2016-2017 Purango yearbook will be distributed from 11:00-1:00 on Friday, Aug. 19.  2016.  Seniors will need to check in at the guard shack and then they will be able to pick up their yearbooks in the lobby.  All other students will pick their yearbooks up during their lunch.  If students can not pick up their yearbook on Friday, Aug. 19, they can pick them up from Dr. Chambers in room 2604 between 11:00-3:15 beginning Monday, Aug. 22.

Football Tickets Sales & Football Schedule

Tickets for Bearcat football will be sold beginning August 8th thru August 12th for returning ticket holders. New ticket holders may purchase tickets beginning August 15th thru August 26th. Reserve seat tickets are $65 each. General admission adult season tickets are $35 each. General admission student season tickets are $25 each.

All tickets will be sold at Bainbridge High School main office from 11 am to 2 pm Monday thru Friday

Parent Involvement Meeting Friday, June 9th

Parents and guardians are invited to participate in the summer School Improvement session which will be held on Friday, June 9 from 8:30 am - 10:00 am.  During the session, we will review and revise the Schoolwide Improvement Plan, Parent Involvement Plan, Parent/Teacher/Student Compact, and determine how the school will budget the 1% set aside funds for Parental Involvement.

Compass Testing Dates April 12th & 18th

The COMPASS Exam will be given Tuesday, April 12th and Monday, April 18th in room 1210 (Dr. Jeter’s lab) for anyone wishing to enroll in Bainbridge College Summer or Fall semesters of 2016.

The test begins promptly at 12:00 pm it usually takes about 1 ½ hours to complete.  If you do not have 1st or 2nd lunch; you must eat either 1st or 2nd lunch prior to taking the COMPASS.

Flexible Learning Program (FLP) Enrollment for Second Semester

Bainbridge High School receives federal Title I funds, under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, to help its students achieve at higher levels. Despite the progress made by our students, Bainbridge High School has been designated as a Focus School under Georgia’s ESEA Flexibility Waiver for the 2015-2016 school year. This designation is based on the school’s 3-year average CCRPI Achievement Gap score, and we keep this designation until our school meets the exit criteria for Focus School status.

  • Bainbridge High School and Hutto Middle School-Released at 12:30 pm
  • Bainbridge Middle School-Released at 12:45 pm
  • All Elementary Schools except JWE & WBE-Released at 1:00 pm
  • JWE & WBE Elementary-Released at 1:05 pm

The early release time is needed to provide the travel time and flexibility needed for our participation in the state semifinal football game in Cartersville, Georgia Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Beginning October 14, the dismissal bell at Bainbridge High School will ring at 2:45.  The earlier release will allow time for our buses to reach Bainbridge Middle School without delaying their dismissal bell.  Instructional time has not been decreased for this change.

Bearcat Basics Registration

All BHS Freshmen and new students are invited and encouraged to attend Bearcat Basics. Bearcat Basics is an informative introduction to high school. During the sessions students will be provided information regarding but not limited to:

Georgia Student Health Survey 2.0 
The Georgia Student Health Survey 2.0 is an anonymous, statewide survey instrument.  The GSHS 2.0 identifies safety and health issues that have negative impact on student achievement and school climate.

Georgia Parent Survey 2016-2017

Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey is also modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet.  

ACCUPLACER Sign Up

The ACCUPLACER Exam will be given Friday, December 2 in the Media Center Computer Lab for anyone wishing to enroll in Bainbridge College Winter or Summer semesters of 2017.

The test begins promptly at 8:00 am it usually takes about 1 ½ hours to complete.  You must sign up on the Google forms document below to take the exam.

St. Pius X  vs BHS football tickets will be sold at BHS beginnig Tuesday, November 24, 2015.   Tickets are $12 each for general admission. Single game reserved seat tickets are $16.00 each.

Due to our December testing schedule we can not add the Compass to our tight schedule.  The testing coordinator is willing to work with our students on the following dates at their site (no cost).

Safety Protocol--Walking Students to Classrooms

Parents are allowed to walk their children into school for the first week.  For safety reasons, parents may not walk their children into the building after the first week. Staff members are posted throughout campus to ensure the safety of students as they walk to class independently.

Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet.  For parents that do not have access to the Internet, school administrators should consider scheduling dates and times to allow parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school.  All parents should be encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.  Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.  The URL address for the Georgia Parent Survey is posted below.

Student Climate Surveys

Georgia Student Health Survey 2.0 
There are two versions of the Georgia Student Health Survey (GSHS) 2.0. The first version is for middle and high school students (grades 6 – 12), and the second version is a short survey for elementary students (grades 3-5). At least 75% of students at each grade level (3-12) must participate in the GSHS 2.0 to be eligible for the School Climate Star Rating. Please make plans for your elementary, middle and high school students to participate in the GSHS 2.0. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The GSHS 2.0 is also available in Spanish. Students may select the Spanish version by clicking Español within the survey. Georgia Milestones Re-Test Information

Decatur County Schools is a Strategic Waiver System, which allows our system to waive specific state board rules. In our current strategic waiver, we chose to waive O.G.C.A 20-2-283 & 20-2-284. This waiver allows us as a system not to retest students for the 2017-2018 school year. The wavier also allows us to be able to use other vital information from your child’s entire school year and not only state assessment scores in the promotion and retention policy for the 2017-2018 school year.

Seniors can book an appointment to come to our Tifton Studio if they can not attend the picture day at the school or would like to our Prestige session (which is only offered in our studios).   Online Booking

If a student is taking pictures at the school they do not need to make an appointment we will send an appointment card to their home two weeks prior to picture day at the school.

Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Awards SADD Grant

In an effort to involve Georgia students in reducing injury and death to young drivers, Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge, Ga is proud to announce their receipt of a $2,500.00 Students Against Destructive Decisions grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Accuplacer Testing Dates

The Accuplacer will be given at BHS on the following dates:  September 27th, October 17th, and November 13th.

MOWR Transportation Grant

Decatur County Schools is pleased to announce that a Move On When Ready Transportation Grant was awarded for the 2017-2018 school year.  The grant provides funding for the transportation of students between Bainbridge High School and Bainbridge State College during the school day.  Students may request transportation to Bainbridge State College by contacting their guidance counselor in the guidance office.

Petition for Awarding of High School Diploma

If you failed to graduate from Bainbridge High School solely due to failing the Georgia High School Graduation Test or the Georgia High School Writing Test or the Basic Skills Test you may complete this form to petition the Decatur County Board of Education. Your eligibility to receive a high school diploma will be determined based on the graduation requirements in effect when you first entered ninth grade.

GA Milestones EOC Assessments-Retesting Opportunity

Students who failed one or more GA Milestones EOC Assessments during December 2017 have the opportunity to retest from January to March 2018. Students who score higher on their retest will have their course grade adjusted accordingly. Please contact Mr. Johnson (sjohnson@dcboe.com) if you are interested in this opportunity.

Georgia Parent Survey

Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey is also modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. For parents that do not have access to the Internet, school administrators should consider scheduling dates and times to allow parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. All parents should be encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

GFB Foundation for Agriculture Scholarships

The GFB Foundation for Agriculture strives to provide students with an opportunity to succeed as they study agriculture-related courses of study. There are several scholarship opportunities available to students, each with varying criteria and eligibility requirements. This year, we are providing over $60,000 worth of scholarships to students in the following areas: high school seniors, rising college juniors and seniors, technical college students and students at the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine.
