The Bainbridge High School Local Scholarship applications are now available on the BHS website and in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is March 30th.

The 2018 Gaines-Jones ??Scholarship is now ready for download.  Eligible students are African-American high school senior in Southwest Georgia.  For other eligibility requirements, download 2018 Gaines-Jones application at www.gaines-jones.org .

On Saturday, four BHS students competed at the first ever SW Georgia Regional Technology Qualifier held at our own Bainbridge High School.  This is a great honor that our school was chosen for this initial site.  All four students placed first and will advance to the State Technology Finals to be held at Middle Georgia State University in Macon, GA on March 10th.  Our students are Fred Simmons and Brendon Mitchell for 3D Modeling and Design, Larry Guy in the field of Robotics and Lauren Reinertsen for Graphic Design.  Great job Bearcats!

John M. Simmons Educational Scholarship:  For graduating seniors of Bainbridge High School, Grace Christian Academy, Maclay School, Chiles High School, Robert F. Munroe High School and Brookwood School who have attained at least a 2.75 GPA.  Other considerations include academics, leadership qualities, extracurricular school activities, community service and financial need.  The deadline date is April 1, 2018. Applications are in BHS guidance.

Senior National Honor Society members: NHS Stoles for graduation are $25 to be paid to Mrs. Wooten or Mrs. Newsome. Deadline is February 19th.

Thomas University Trio Program will meet on Wednesday, February 7th at 3:00 p.m.  Students must have their own transportation home.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College - Bainbridge State College will be hosting the first annual Bainbridge "STALLION DAY" on Saturday, February 10, 2018. 

Let's see if “Bainbridge High’s Got Talent”! Can you sing, dance, paint, play an instrument, perform comedy, or entertain a crowd? Sign up for the schoolwide talent show with Mrs. Powell or during lunches next week. Auditions are February 13th and 15th in the chorus room. The winners get $100 prizes! The “Bainbridge High’s Got Talent” show is Monday, March 5th at 7:30 p.m. at the Bainbridge State College Kirbo Center.

Outstanding Senior Applications are now available in Guidance.  If you'd like to be considered for this honor, applications must be returned to Dr. Chambers in room 6204 no later than 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14th.  Outstanding Seniors excel in areas such as extra-curricular activities, community service, class rigor, etc.  Attendance, GPA, and discipline will be checked.  No applications will be accepted late.

Anchor Club's February meeting has been postponed until Thursday, February 8th at 2:50 p.m. in the Media Center.

Book Club will meet after school in the Media Center on Wednesday, February 7th.  New members welcome. You must have transportation home. 

2018 Akerman Academic Excellence Scholarship Application is now open.  Akerman LLP and National CASA are excited to announce the application process is now open for the second annual Akerman Academic Excellence Scholarship Award.  A scholarship in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded to an outstanding former foster youth who has demonstrated a commitment to academic achievement. Additional scholarship funds will be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee. Recipients remaining in good academic standing and meeting additional requirements may be eligible to receive the scholarship for four years.  If you know a young person who has spent time in foster care and meets the scholarship eligibility requirements, please nominate him or her for the award.  The submission deadline is Friday, March 9, 2018, by 5 p.m. (PT). The scholarship recipient will be announced May 4, 2018.

The Accuplacer will be given at BHS on Wednesday, February 21st at 8:00 a.m. in the Media Center.  Interested students should sign up in Guidance.  This administration is for first time test takers only. 

Prom Tickets will be on sale for three days:  March 9th, 16th, and 19th.  Tickets are $25 each.  Forms for non-BHS students going as dates, are located in Attendance and in the lunchroom and are due back by March 9th - no exceptions.

Tracy Stephens, the CEO and Founder of Dreams to Kings and Queens award two $500 scholarships and three laptops to graduating seniors. This scholarship is intended to help students have a chance at pursuing a college education and accomplish their dreams.  The eligibility requirements for this scholarship include:  must be graduating high school senior (in the state of Georgia), GPA of 2.5 greater, and be accepted to and prepared to attend an accredited university/college.The application process includes:  submitting a High School Transcript and submitting a two page essay answering the following question, “What kind of positive impact do you hope to make in the world?”  To apply for this scholarship students must go to https://www.dreamstokingsandqueens.com/scholarship-laptop-giveaway. One boy and girl will be chosen as scholarship recipients. They will each receive $500. Then there will be 3 students selected to receive a new laptop. Students can submit applications until Friday, April 27, 2018.

Bill Reynolds Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually. Applicants must be a graduating senior from either Bainbridge High School or Grace Christian Academy.  Applicants must reside in the United States, and plan to attend a post-secondary college or university in the United States. This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of leadership abilities, community service and academics. A transcript must be attached in order to be considered. Application must be submitted by April 1, 2018.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College - Bainbridge (BSC) will be hosting the first annual Bainbridge "STALLION DAY" on Saturday, February 10, 2018. 

Florida A&M University will host a College and Career Fair on Saturday, February 24, 2018.  Fifteen Historically Black Colleges and Universities will be in attendance for onsite admissions and financial aid assistance, along with workshops for student and parents.  Students who pre-register will receive a free Basketball ticket to FAMU vs. NCA&T.  Register @ myfutureislit.eventbright.com.

DOCO Credit Union will award twenty $1,000.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors based upon demonstration of strong academic achievement as well as well-rounded blend of extra-curricular activities, school/community service initiatives, essay and financial need.   Applicants must be a dependent of a primary member of DOCO Credit Union, must be a high school senior planning to enroll in a 2- or 4- year college, university or vocational-technical college.  Deadline is March 30, 2018 by 5p.m. more information is available in Guidance.

Southwest Georgia Farm Credit will offer four scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each, to selected high school seniors.  The application is available under the LEARN TAB on SWGAFARMCredit.com. Application deadline is February 28, 2018.  More information is available in Guidance.

2018 Seniors:  Dues of $12 need to be paid by February 15thDues can be paid to the bookkeeper, Mrs. Wooten, in the administrative office.  

Scholarship Opportunity:  The Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia which includes Probate Judges, Tax Commissioners, Sheriffs, and Superior Court Clerks?has scholarship opportunities available for high school seniors.  Please follow the link below for more information http://www.coag.info/scholarships.html. Application deadline is March 31st.

Scholarship Overview: The Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship is available to undergraduates who were athletes at the high school level. You do not need to be an athlete at the college level.  Application deadline is June 1st.  The award amount is $1000.  Eligibility requirements are former high school athletes who are enrolled as a full-time student at a two or four-year college.  For application instructions go to https://www.athleticscholarships.net/scholarship-contest.html

Georgia District Civitan Foundation, Inc. has two scholarship opportunities for Seniors:  2017-2018 Alice Dodd Scholarship for Outstanding Community Service and the 2017-2018 Bobby Dodd Scholarship for Outstanding Community Service (awarded to a physically challenged student).  For more information, please come to guidance.  Application deadline is March 31st.

Regional Partners Network - Youth Development Committee 2018 Youth Summit for Southwest Georgia will take place Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Southwest Georgia RESA located at 570 Martin Luther King, Jr. Road, Camilla, Georgia 31730 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The Youth Summit will offer guidance to students on career opportunities after high school.  The sessions will cover careers, leadership skills, financial literacy and so much more!  The students will be able to interact with students from neighboring schools and a dynamic group of leaders.  If you would like to nominate Junior and Senior students pick up a brochure from guidance.

ABAC Stallion Day will be hosted on April 7thStallion Day is a fantastic chance for students to experience ABAC!  For more information go to www.abac.edu 

The GFB Foundation for Agriculture strives to provide students with an opportunity to succeed as they study agriculture-related courses.  There are several scholarships opportunities available to students, each with varying criteria and eligibility requirements. This year, we are providing over $60,000 worth of scholarships to students in the following areas: high school seniors, rising college juniors and seniors, technical college students and students at the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine.  Applications for the 2018 cycle are now available at http://www.gfbfoundation.org/aitc_scholarships.html. Completed applications are due March 2, 2018.  Please note, this year, applications are to be submitted ONLINE only. Free math tutoring will be available every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Math Tutoring Center room 1225.  Students must have a pass from their classroom teacher, pencil, paper, and sample problems they need help with.  All students must sign in and out.

Morning Traffic Flow:  All students coming from Bainbridge must enter the campus via the west gate (bus gate); only students entering campus from the east (Climax) should enter via the main gate.  All student drop off is in the front of the school and parents dropping off should enter the main gate.

 

School Parking at BHS requires a parking permit. Honors Parking is the first row nearest the English/Fine Arts wing.  Senior Row is the second row from the English/Fine Arts wing.  Only students with Honors Parking permits are allowed to park on Honors Row, and only seniors are to park on Senior Row. 

All students who drive to school are required to have a Parking Permit.  Permits are $10 and can be purchased from Mrs. Wooten in the front office.  Students who are ticketed for not having a parking permit will be fined $20.

Certificate of Attendance/Enrollment:  Students requesting Certificate of Attendance/Enrollment MUST sign up on Mondays in the Administrative Office. Certificates will be available for pick up on Wednesday.  There will be a $1.00 charge for certificates.

LUNCH MENU:  Turkey & Gravy w/Rice Pilaf or Chicken Nuggets, Golden Corn, Sweet Potato Waffle Fries, Baby Lima Beans, Rolls, Fresh Garden Salad, Fresh Fruit, Milk

BEARCAT EXPRESS LANE:  Trio Italian Meats (Cold Cuts), Ham, Turkey, Chicken or Tuna Salad, Veggie Bar, Fresh Fruit, Chips, Crackers

NEXT DAY’S BREAKFAST:  Pancake Pup, Donut, Fresh Fruit, Juice, Milk
