The Dr. Eric Dueno Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. Eric Dueno, Professor of Chemistry at Bainbridge State College, by granting a scholarship to a graduating senior who is dedicated to the sport of cross country running. Dr. Dueno was an avid runner with a passion for mentoring students by sharing his love of learning in the classroom and his love of running outside the classroom.
Who is eligible?
·One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering an accredited U.S. university or college this fall semester as a full- time student and who will pursue a course of study leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree.
What is the amount of the scholarship?
·The scholarship recipient will receive a one-time award of $1,000.00. The applicant must submit proof of enrollment (fall semester class schedule) to Mrs. Renee Wooten, Bainbridge High School Bookkeeper for payment.
What are the requirements for the award? (All must be met for consideration.)
·2.5 or higher GPA
·Minimum of two years participation on the cross country team.
·One letter of reference is required: It must be from a High School Teacher who can speak to the character of the student.
·Essay (described on the scholarship form)
·Official copy of his or her high school record
