Early Learner's Workshop: Literacy Skill Building

Early Learner's Workshop

Decatur County Schools Closed Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th

Parents and Community Members,

The uncertainty of the future track of Hurricane Irma and its potential impact on our area has led us to cancel school for all Decatur County Schools on Monday, September 11th and Tuesday, September 12th. We are hopeful that our area sees very little impact but the uncertainty remains too high to take any chances with the safety of our students and staff. Schools will reopen on Wednesday, September 13th unless developments change at which time we will update you all.  Thank you and be safe.

Sincerely,

Tim Cochran

Superintendent Decatur County Schools

Georgia Milestones

http://p5cdn4static.sharpschool.com/UserFiles/Servers/Server_5229565/Image/Assessment/GA%20Milestones%20Logo.png

Elementary GMAS Schedule

Wednesday, April 12- ELA Section 1 (3rd & 4th Grade)

Thursday, April 13- ELA Sections 2 & 3 (3rd & 4th Grade)

Friday, April 14- Math Sections 1 & 2 (3rd & 4th Grade)

The Georgia Milestones Assessment measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Students in grades 3 through 8 will take End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments in each content area. Decatur County students will participate in the Georgia Milestones between April 12th-24th. During this week we ask that your child attend school each day, arrive on time (before 8:00am), and get a good night's sleep. It is very important that your student is at school each day, rested, and ready to do their best on the EOG. Please schedule all doctor and dental appointments around the test dates. Students will be testing during the morning.

For further information or questions, you may contact your child's school adminstration or Chip Davis, Director of System Assessement at 229-240-2039.
