Shape Grant for Hutto Middle School

Hutto has been awarded a $4,000 grant to help support school nutrition and physical education.

With the grant a smoothie machine will be purchased to offer healthy smoothie options during breakfast. Select students will participate in a taste test to determine the most appealing flavors of smoothies. Once the flavors have been chosen, the smoothies will be offered to all the students. The technology equipment purchased for the physical education program consists of a large multi-purpose screen and projector. These items will be installed in the physical conditioning classroom.

Danita Ornelas and Petra Joyner were honored to attend the Shape Grant Health Summit in Atlanta on Oct 29th & 30th. Hutto Middle was one of 23 schools in the state of Georgia to receive a Shape Grant.
