Potter Street Elementary School is located in the small rural community of Bainbridge, Georgia. The school is located on the site of the old Bainbridge High School. Potter Street Elementary was built in 1990 as a result of rezoning throughout the district. When the rezoning occurred, the old Climax Elementary School was closed, and those students along with students from surrounding schools were then zoned for the newly built Potter Street Elementary. Since its inception, Potter Street has gone through many renovations and additions, including a 2000 remodel that added eight classrooms, expanded the lunchroom, and improved the physical environment.
