Georgia Parent Survey

Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey is also modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. For parents that do not have access to the Internet, school administrators should consider scheduling dates and times to allow parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. All parents should be encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

Decatur County Schools Closed Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th

Parents and Community Members,

The uncertainty of the future track of Hurricane Irma and its potential impact on our area has led us to cancel school for all Decatur County Schools on Monday, September 11th and Tuesday, September 12th. We are hopeful that our area sees very little impact but the uncertainty remains too high to take any chances with the safety of our students and staff. Schools will reopen on Wednesday, September 13th unless developments change at which time we will update you all.  Thank you and be safe.

The Georgia Milestones Assessment measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Students in grades 3 through 8 will take End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments in each content area. Decatur County students will participate in the Georgia Milestones between April 12th-24th. During this week we ask that your child attend school each day, arrive on time (before 8:00 am), and get a good night's sleep. It is very important that your student is at school each day, rested, and ready to do their best on the EOG. Please schedule all doctor and dental appointments around the test dates. Students will be testing during the morning.

For further information or questions, you may contact your child's school administration or Chip Davis, Director of System Assessment at 229-240-2039.
