On behalf of the entire faculty and staff of Potter Street Elementary (PSE), we are excited to have you and your child join us for the 2018-2019 school year. We are committed to providing excellence in all that we offer and look forward to the partnerships we create between the school, parents, students, and the community.
Each year we strive to “Lead the Rest” as we work to provide the best instruction to your child. Providing opportunities and challenges that result in rewarding experiences is our focus at PSE. Teachers plan daily to identify and incorporate teaching strategies that reinforce the needs of your child. Using your child’s data, differentiated instruction is provided to give your child the opportunity to reach his/her fullest potential. Core academic subjects remain a priority, as well as providing a learning program that builds each year to reach local and state standards.
Our school belongs to you. We welcome and encourage your involvement at PSE. Getting “Plugged In” requires certification and is offered many times throughout the year. The success of your child will be impacted by your involvement, your encouragement, and your support both academically and behaviorally. We look forward to you “Plugging In” at scheduled parent-teacher conferences, workshops, PTO meetings, and other planned activities at PSE.
The success of your child will also be impacted by communication. The “Friday Folder” and “Agenda” will provide you with feedback regarding academics and behavior progress for your child. Internet access and rights to the parent portal will allow you access to your child’s current classroom performance and attendance. The use of newsletters, Remind, and Class Do Jo are some other ways teachers can keep you informed of your child’s success. Please call if we can offer any assistance in helping you “Plug In”.
Together, through teamwork, community building, and a commitment to excellence, we are determined that this will be a great year! Start your year by “Leading the Rest” the “Bearcat Way”.
Yours in Education,
Jennifer H. Wilkinson, Principal
