Decatur County Schools Child Find Notice
In accordance with IDEA regulations, the Decatur County School System seeks to ensure that all disabled students (ages 3-21) who are in need of special education services within its jurisdiction are identified, located and evaluated. This includes those students that are parentally placed in private or home school. Final identification of students with disabilities and programming for such students occurs only after an appropriate evaluation and a determination by a placement team. If the child find process indicates that a student may require special education and supportive services in order to access the general education curriculum, the student shall be referred to a placement team to determine the student’s eligibility for special education services.

For more information regarding the child find process, please attend the Decatur County Schools Child Find meeting on: Monday, July 18, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Decatur County Schools Support Center, 507 Martin Street, Bainbridge, GA. 39819. Information regarding services for parentally placed private or home school students will be available.
