From the Director

New Beginnings Learning Center is an alternative educational program that provides students in Grades 6-12 with the social services, individualized instruction, intervention strategies and/or transition to other programs that they need to become successful students and good citizens in the school and community. Formerly a night program, classes will now be held Monday through Thursday during the hours of 8:30 am until 1:00 pm on the campus of Bainbridge Middle School.

Students are registered for computer based instruction as well as direct instruction by experienced, certified teachers focusing on the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards. NBLC promotes relationship building and self-reflection as we strive to prepare our students to become successful and productive citizens.

High expectations have been set for student attendance and academic performance.  Students are also expected to arrive no earlier than 8:15 am and no later than 8:30.  Instruction will begin promptly at 8:30.  Students are also expected to adhere to the Bainbridge High School dress code while attending school.  Dismissal will be at 1:00 at which time all students must leave the campus.  All students should enter the NBLC through the north entrance (off Miluli Street) of the two story building in “B” building only and should not be on any other portion of the BMS campus at any time. Breakfast and lunch will be served to all students.

Our goal at NBLC is to assist our students in transitioning back to their home school to successfully complete their course of study.  Parental involvement is very important, and parents will be expected to be a part of their student’s education while attending NBLC. Our staff consists of highly qualified retired Decatur County teachers with a great deal of experience.  We welcome all parents and stakeholders to visit the center as we work together as a community for our students.
