WELCOME BACK, COHORT 2021.

My name is Jennifer Voyles, and I am looking forward to another outstanding year for the members of Cohort 2021.  At BHS, we believe in the power of connection and trust, and it is my personal mission to establish strong relationships with each one of my students and their families.  I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve Bainbridge High School, and I look forward to getting to know each one of you as you grow and reach your full potential over the next four years.

A former graduate of Bainbridge High School, I left our sweet town of Bainbridge and went to Athens, Georgia where I continued my education at the University of Georgia, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education in Professional School Counseling (K-12).  I have teaching experience in the Athens and Atlanta areas, but I am proud to be back home serving the community of Bainbridge, Georgia.

The Counseling Department at BHS aims to help students develop a sense of belonging; monitor students' academic progress, attendance and behavioral concerns; advise students on post secondary education and careers; involve parents in their student’s education; assist students with planning their sequence of courses; ensure students take a rigorous core curriculum and choose an appropriate career cluster/pathway, and ensure students see relevance between high school curriculum and goals for post secondary education and the world of work.

The role of a school counselor is a complex one.  No two days are the same.  I believe that every student has the ability to learn and succeed, but my purpose as a school counselor is to meet my students' individual needs and hopefully point them in the right direction.  I hope my desire to be a confidant, ally, support system, empathetic listener and advocate for every child is evident in the way that I treat all of my students.

Please do not hestitate to contact me, should you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached by phone at 229-243-6807 or by email at jvoyles@dcboe.com.  I am looking forward to a great year!  Go Bearcats and Go Dawgs!
