Ms. Medley started her first year with BHS in 2019-2020, but her career in professional Education began in 2000. Before that, she was involved in community education as a literacy tutor. Before making BHS her school home, she taught in Texas, Arizona, and Florida, and is also certified in Alabama and taught for students across the country from a school based in Iowa. Ms. Medley has experience teaching all high school grade levels in core English classes at regular and honors level and Language Arts Electives including Creative Writing, Performance Poetry, Film as Literature, Social Media for Positive Change, Speech & Debate, and more. In addition, she has served many years as a Library Media Specialist and Educational Technology Trainer. She has also served as a student mentor and continually seeks to improve, learn, and grow in her field through professional development and applied educational practices in order to benefit her students with up to date best practices in teaching and learning. She currently holds a Bachelor's degree in Literature and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Emphasis in Distance Learning. She hopes to one day return to school to complete her Doctoral studies. Outside of enjoying her daily work with students, Ms. Medley loves spending time with her family, reading often as time allows, and creative writing.
