Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. I am excited to be teaching my 28th year at BHS.  I am a graduate of the University of Georgia where I received a B.A. in English and a M.Ed. in English Education.  I received a M.Ed. in Leadership from ASU and an Ed.D. in Leadership from Nova Southeastern.

I am the proud parent of Ramsay, a recent UGA grad; Emily, a UGA first year;and three cats: Winky, Diego, and Mouse.

I enjoy traveling, reading (when I get a chance), and supporting my childen in whatever activities they choose.

Weeks of 9-13 March 2020

 

Block 1

Students will begin the study of poetry this week.    They will write an in-class essay an annotated poem on Friday. They should also be keeping up with their Cry, the Beloved Country reading schedule. They have a test over book 1 on Tuesday.  Their revised multiple choice test is due Tuesday as well. The weekly vocabulary quiz will be on Thursday.

Block 2

Students will complete the study of the Transcendental period this week by writing an in-class essay over Dead Poets Society on Tuesday.  They have their weekly vocabulary quiz on Thursday.  Students should test over their outside reading books no later than March 17th.  We will begin the research process this week.  3 annotated bibliography cards will be due Monday, March 16.  They will receive a schedule that contains library dates as well as due dates for the steps of the process.

Block 3

Students will continue their March pages this week.  Pages are due to their section leaders March 13.  They will sell ads off campus on Tuesday and Friday.
