  • Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition: interested students should see Mr. Spalla in Room 206 before or after school or talk with their ELA teacher for more information. Entries are due to Mr. Spalla on February 14.

  • BMS Chorus  will be pre-selling Candy Grams for Valentine’s Day.  You can see members of the chorus at lunch to purchase one for a special person or for yourself.

  • Any student who sold the World’s Finest Chocolate, turn in money as soon as possible.

  • Reminder of the Day: Students, it seems that many of you got new phones for Christmas and do not want to turn them into the teacher.  I recommend leaving it at home and not bringing it to school. If you do decide to bring it follow procedure and turn it in.  If you are caught with it during school hours it will be taken up and your parents will have to come and get it.

  • Quote of the Day:  Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.

  • Today’s lunch menu: Chicken & Waffle w/syrup OR Pepperoni Pizza, golden corn, tater tots, vegetable of the day.

  • Yearbooks are on sale for $35. See Mrs. Conley or Ms. Kirkland

  • January’s Harvest of the Month is greens (collards, mustard and turnips). Winter Greens are great sources of vitamins A, C and K. Did you know that vitamin A is good for your vision? What are some ways you can incorporate greens into your meals this week?

  • “I would like to thank the saxophone quartet from our band and the 7th grade chorus participants at the board of education meeting last night.  I received many compliments about your performances. Thank you, Mr. Parker and Mr. Bryant, for preparing the students.”- Mr. Maxwell

  • “I would like to thank the BMS students who participated in the Tech. Fair yesterday at the support center.  Jeremiah Johnson won first place in audio and Chloe Eakin won first place in video. Great job, this was impressive.”- Mr. Maxwell

  • “I would like to thank all the students who participated in the district spelling bee yesterday-Gurpreet Kaur, Austin Sims, and Jameria Cull.”- Mr. Maxwell
