Educational Bio

I graduated Cum Laude from Berry College with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Concentration in Voice (2010). While at Berry, I served as the Student Assistant Choral Director of the Berry College Concert Choir and the Berry Singers, a prestigious chorus that has performed around the world, under the direction of Choral Director Harry Musselwhite. Through the assistantship, I had the opportunity to conduct in numerous performances, events, and rehearsals. I also worked part time for the Floyd County Board of Education (Rome, Ga), where I tutored 11 students ages 6-16 in all subjects. Throughout the 3 years there, I was able to raise students scores from failing to passing with an average of a 30 point gain in all subjects.

Professional Bio

I joined the Hutto Middle School staff in 2011. While at Hutto, the chorus has grown from 175 students to an average of 215 students. The Hutto Chorus has had the honor to perform in multiple community events including Christmas on the River and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration. Students have participated in both District and State Honors Chorus and have been selected to participate in the Carnegie Hall Performance Series for Middle School. I was voted Teacher of the Year for HMS for the 2016-2017 school year.
