Announcements for 11/8/19
Today’s lunch menu is: Chicken Tenders w/Southern Biscuit OR Pizza of the Day, English Peas, Tator Tots, Baby Carrots, Vegetable of the Day, and Fruit of the Day.
The G.I.R.L.S. Club and The Gentlemen’s Club will sponsor a Fall Dance on November 15th. The cost of the dance will be $1.00 if you bring a canned item or $1.50 without a canned item. The canned food collected will be used to help families in need in our community. Be sure to turn in your can and pay your homeroom teacher.
Students, all make-up work is due this Friday. Students, the end of the 4.5 grading period is next Tuesday. You have until Friday to turn in your work for absence(s).
Students, DO NOT LEAVE CLASS TO BUY SNACKS FROM OTHER TEAMS OR TEACHERS. AND DON’T BUY SNACKS BEFORE LUNCH.
Congratulations to the 7th gr. Boys’ Basketball Team yesterday for their 2nd victory in a row. The Cats traveled to Pelham and came away with a convincing victory, 61-13.
BMS football players who finished the season can meet Coach Flowers at the gate tonight between 6:30-7pm.
Next wee is World Kindness week. FCA invites all of BMS to celebrate with daily activities. Your teachers will share ideas with you each day. Notice the posters in the hallways. Plan to wear your favorite TEAM shirt on Wednesday and purple and gold on Friday.
Students, we will have Thanksgiving lunch here at BMS next Thursday, Nov. 14th. Students, if you wish for parents to eat lunch with you on this day, have parents fill out the form and return to homeroom teacher by Tuesday, Nov. 12th; limit of two guests per student. The parents will pay when they go through the line.
We are still accepting people for the Wrestling Team. We need about 10-15 more wrestlers on the team. Most important requirements are NO FAILING GRADES, A CURRENT PHYSICAL AND A POSITIVE ATTITUDE. Contact Coach Morehouse via email, if any student is interested and meet the requirements. We will not have practice this Thursday. Therefore, new members will need to be present for next Monday’s practice.
Student and Faculty, Mr. Parker is creating a slideshow to present at our Veteran’s Day program. If you have friends and family who served in the military, please bring pictures to him so he can scan and include brief information, on November 11th.
Students who go to the lunchroom in the mornings before 7:30 - when entering, find a seat and remain seated until dismissed. Students and Faculty, place any uneaten breakfast in the containers set up by the doors in A building. Students feel free to get food items to eat during the day from the containers. Please use manners and get one item at a time so there is enough for other students. Also, after announcements, place breakfast trash outside the door.
FCA members who want to ride in the homecoming parade can pick up a permission slip from the FCA table on the Science Hall.
Teachers, send work to students who are in ISS.
Dress Code violators will be sent to ISS for the day, from now on.
Phones-Students, if you bring your phone to school, you must turn into your homeroom teacher-follow phone policy.
Staff, Open Enrollment began yesterday- everyone with insurance needs to come by the conference room and sign the cafeteria plan. Open Enrollment, to choose your health insurance plan is from Oct. 21st-Nov. 8th.
Students, do not prop exterior doors open in the building. They are closed and locked for your safety.
Students, the lockers, in the gym are to store personal items, not books.
Students, DO NOT BRING SUNFLOWER SEEDS TO BMS.
Students, DO NOT BRING BLANKETS TO SCHOOL.
Students, there is a level 0 for noise when changing classes. Walk on the right side of the hallway.
Bandannas or Hoodies are not allowed to be worn at BMS. Students do not wear them! Page 43 of the handbook clearly states bandannas are not to be worn by students in Decatur County Schools. Staff, please help police this dress code policy.
Student Reminder: When changing classes, you should be on the right side of the hall and be at a level one whisper. While you change classes, other classes are already in session. Please do not be loud in the halls because it disrupts other classes.
There are still slots available for Ga. Studies. If you are interested in going on the Ga. Studies trip, see your Ga. Studies teacher.
After school begins Sept. 9th and will be every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 - 5:15pm.
