Enrolling in Decatur County Schools

Decatur County schools offers an online enrollment process. For any family that is not able to complete the process online, please contact the school your child will attend. See School Site Enrollment Contacts below.

Birth Certificate-must be a certified copy (Form 3918)
Social Security Card or SS Waiver form (SS WAIVER)
GA Immunization (form 3231) & Ear, Eye, & Dental (form 3300)
Withdrawal Records from Previous Schools (Attendance, Unofficial transcript, withdrawal grades, & discipline records)
Student emergency contact(s) -- Names & phone numbers (Date of birth is helpful to determine if person is already listed in system)

PRE-K REGISTRATION INFORMATION

NOW ACCEPTING APPOINTMENTS FOR PRE-K REGISTRATION.

Your child must be four(4) years old on or before September 1, 2024 to be eligible for the Decatur County Pre-K Program as required by the Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.

STEP 1: Gather all required documents (see PRE-K REGISTRATION FAQ)
*Please be sure to bring ALL documents to your appointment.
STEP 2: Complete the ONLINE APPLICATION portion of Registration
*Please note that cell phones are not recommended for submitting your online application.
STEP 3: After submitting the online application you will be sent a link to make an appointment to finalize the registration process.
*If you do not have access to a computer to complete your application online, kiosks will be available in our Central Enrollment office.

DID NOT ATTEND PRE-K?

If your child did not attend Pre-K as a four(4)-year-old, then they may be eligible to attend the Pre-K Program as a five(5)-year-old.

2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration Information

4:00-5:30 p.m.

PK students currently enrolled and attending PK at their zone school do not need to attend Kindergarten Registration.

WHO NEEDS TO REGISTER?

Any child that is not currently enrolled as a PreK student in the Decatur County School System.
Any PK student who is not currently attending their zone school must register for Kindergarten on March 20th.

Kindergarten Registration will be held on March 20th. A child must be five (5) years old ON or BEFORE September 1, 2024, in order to be eligible for public kindergarten. Any questions concerning correct zone can be answered at the individual schools or at the Board of Education Bus Shop.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO REGISTER:

Birth Certificate
Immunization Certificate (If a child has not completed his/her immunization, the Health Department should be contacted. Please note that the completion of the Hepatitis B series (3 doses) and Varicella (2 doses) are part of the required immunization.)
Social Security Card
Proof of residence (Acceptable proofs of residence include current rent receipt, power bill, water bill, or, if living with a relative, a notarized letter with one of the previously named bills attached.)
