Decatur County Schools is proud to recognize Bainbridge High School senior Greta Zuccaro for making history in the Bearcat swimming program. A foreign exchange student from Italy, Zuccaro recently became the program’s first-ever state champion in swimming.

Competing at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center during the GHSA State Swimming Championships, Zuccaro delivered an outstanding performance over the two-day event. She captured the state title in the 100-yard breaststroke with a winning time of 1:03.42 and also earned a bronze medal in the 200-yard individual medley, showcasing her strength and versatility in the pool.

Zuccaro’s accomplishments reflect the hard work, dedication, and competitive spirit that define The Bearcat Way. In recognition of her historic achievement, she was honored during the February Decatur County Board of Education meeting, where board members and district leaders congratulated her for representing Bainbridge High School and the community with excellence.

Looking ahead, Zuccaro has big dreams for the future. She hopes to continue competing at a high level and aspires to swim in the Olympic Games one day, pursuing the same passion and determination that helped her reach the top of the podium in Georgia.

Decatur County Schools congratulates Greta Zuccaro on this remarkable achievement and wishes her continued success as she pursues her goals in the pool and beyond.
