Our JWP teachers and staff were treated to a delicious Biscuits for the Best breakfast, generously sponsored by SunStop Stores! It was a wonderful way to start the day and celebrate the incredible educators who pour so much into our students every single day.

Members of the Central Office team, and our friends from SunStop stopped by to help serve up appreciation—and Sunny the SunStop mascot was the highlight of the morning! The kids were thrilled to see Sunny, filling the halls with waves, hugs, and lots of excited smiles ☀️

We are so grateful for community partners like SunStop and for the amazing team at JWP who make a difference in the lives of our Bearcats each and every day.

Decatur County Schools Superintendent Dr. Boyd English kicked off the season by throwing out the honorary first pitch at Bainbridge High School’s home baseball game against Colquitt.

This season marks Head Coach Ryan Riles’ first year as head coach, and we are excited to see the team grow under his leadership.

Decatur County Schools is excited to celebrate an outstanding achievement by Bainbridge High School senior Mitchell Carter, who has earned both the school-level and system-level STAR Student honor!

This recognition highlights Mitchell’s academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to success inside and outside the classroom. We are equally proud of Dr. Heidi Chambers, whom Mitchell selected as his STAR Teacher. His choice speaks volumes about the meaningful impact she has made through her dedication, mentorship, and commitment to helping students thrive.

Mitchell will now represent Bainbridge High School and Decatur County Schools at the Region PAGE meeting on March 12 as he competes for Region STAR Student. We are cheering him on every step of the way!

Thank you to the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) for sponsoring the STAR program and to the Bainbridge–Decatur County Chamber of Commerce for hosting this special recognition. Celebrating student and teacher excellence is what The Bearcat Way is all about — Proud Tradition, Promising Future. 💜🐾💛

❤️ Go Red for Women ❤️

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, and awareness can save lives. Many women experience warning signs that may differ from those commonly seen in men—making education, prevention, and early detection essential.

On Friday, February 6, DCBOE Central Office staff wears red to support women’s heart health and help raise awareness for the importance of prevention and early detection. ❤️
