Bainbridge High School is proud to recognize several talented art students whose work will be featured at the Albany Museum of Art this week as part of the Second Congressional District’s 45th Annual Congressional Art Competition titled "Happy 250th Birthday America!" This nationally recognized program, organized and funded by members of the House of Representatives, including Congressman Sanford Bishop, showcases the artistic achievements of high school students in grades 9–12.

A district-wide winner will be selected, and the winning artwork will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year before being returned to the student. All participating students will also have their artwork exhibited at the Albany Museum of Art, with a reception scheduled for April 11th at 2:00 PM, where award winners will be announced.

Representing Bainbridge High School are Ana Cicognini (12th grade), Estefany Martinez Lopez (11th grade), Landhy Bustamante (11th grade), Nicole Altamirano (9th grade), and Kinsley Kirkland (9th grade).

We are incredibly proud of these students for their creativity, dedication, and outstanding artistic accomplishments.

🤖 EVENT FINALIST, QUALITY AWARD, QUALIFIED FOR STATE! 🤖

The Bainbridge High School [cy]BEARCATS robotics team is thrilled to be returning form the ALBANY Qualifier this weekend qualified to bring our robot KIT CAT to the state championship in Macon on APRIL 8-11> This weekend our ROOKIE team was honored to be selected to compete alongside Team 4188 and Team 1771 in the top alliance!--earning recognition as an event finalist!

But that's not all. the [cy]BEARCATS #11214 also received the QUALITY AWARD, recognizing our machine's robustness and our team's collaborative spirit. The judges wrote: "This team demonstrates TRUE QUALITY through its unwavering attention to detail in everything it does. Clad in purple with every gear in sync, this team reflects strength, reliability, and a commitment to doing the essential exceptionally well. Though the team is new, their foundation is Strong! Like a well-built bridge, every connection is built to last."

We achieved our ROOKIE GOALS for the season:
✓ Built a bot that functions and never misses a match
✓ Earned the Rookie All-Star Award to present at State
✓ Earned our place at the State Championship in Macon next week

From broken intake rods to overcurrent issues—we kept KIT CAT running for every single match. Now we're back in the workshop, sharpening our edge for States. The only thing left on our Rookie Bucket List is to earn the privilege of traveling to compete on the world state at the end of the month. We are up for the challenge.

Thank you to our mentors, our sponsors, our alliance partners, and all the veteran FRC teams who've guided us every step of the way--helping us build a bridge to our future!

The [cy]BEARCAT team mantra: "Everything in life worth doing takes work, takes time, and takes GRIT!" Now, we are ready to show ours.

THE BRAINS BEHIND THE BOT: THANK YOU, MENTORS! 🧠🛠️

Behind every great robot is a team of dedicated mentors who refuse to say "it can’t be done." As we head to Albany this week, the BHS Robotics team wants to send a massive THANK YOU to the incredible mentors who have guided us through our rookie year.

From teaching us how to wire "Kit Cat" to helping us troubleshoot code when nothing we tried seemed to work out right! These volunteers give their time, talent, and patience to ensure we succeed. You aren't just teaching us how to build machines; you’re teaching us how to solve problems and lead.

We couldn’t do this without your expertise and your heart! 💜🤖

🤝 To Our Current Sponsors: THANK YOU!
We are fueled by the generosity of our community. A huge shout-out to NASA, Bainbridge High School, and our local partners for believing in the power of STEM and investing in the next generation of Bainbridge engineers, coders, and leaders. You are the reason we’re heading to the Albany Civic Center this weekend!

🚀 Join the Mission
As a rookie team, we are just getting started! Our journey doesn't end in Albany—we’ve already punched our ticket to the State Championship in Macon (April 8-11). To keep our momentum going and ensure this program grows for years to come, we are looking for more community partners to join our sponsor family.

Why sponsor BHS Robotics?

Invest in local talent: Support students learning real-world engineering, CAD, and Java programming.

Community Visibility: See your business logo on our robot, team shirts, and pit displays across the state.

Build the Future: Help us bridge the tech gap in Southwest Georgia!
