We recommend that Decatur County Schools set the millage rate at the same level as the previous year. Our aim is to keep the millage rate low with ESPLOST. ESPLOST is the 1% sales tax that funds building projects to benefit future generations of Bearcats.

A group of children and two adults pose together indoors, smiling at the camera. Most of the group is wearing purple Bainbridge-themed shirts, with one adult in a navy polo. The setting appears to be a recreation or community center with couches, exposed ceiling beams, and a decorative hanging light fixture above.
ESPLOST stands for Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

It is a locally approved sales tax used specifically to fund building projects that benefit future generations of Bearcats. This tax is an additional 1 % added to sales tax, approved by voters, and has already been in place in Decatur County.

ESPLOST provides schools with funding beyond what is available through general state and local budgets. It is our desire to keep our Millage Rate low with ESPLOST.
