Director of Curriculum and Instruction
With 20 years of service in Decatur County Schools, Christy Cox brings a deep commitment to excellence and equity in education. As Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Cox plays a pivotal role in shaping the learning experiences of students across the district.
Her work focuses on ensuring that all students have access to high-quality instruction aligned with state standards. Through collaboration with teachers, principals, and district leaders, Cox helps implement effective curricula, leads professional development, and analyzes student data to support achievement and continuous improvement.
What led her to education? “I knew I wanted to work in a profession that made a difference,” says Cox. “But it wasn’t until I spent time in a classroom that I truly understood where my heart belonged.” It’s the meaningful connections with students and the chance to walk alongside them in their learning journey that first drew her in—and continue to inspire her every day.
Her favorite moments? Those “light bulb” moments when a student finally grasps a challenging concept. “That spark in a student’s eyes, that boost in their confidence, and the pride they feel when they finally ‘get it’—those moments are what continue to inspire me every day.”
Cox describes the most rewarding part of her current role as being present in classrooms. “Watching teachers engage students, apply strategies we've discussed, and create meaningful learning experiences,” she shares.

With 6 years of service in Decatur County Schools, Amy Zock leads with innovation and a drive to empower students and educators alike. As Director of Instructional Technology, Digital Learning, and STEM, Zock bridges the gap between classroom innovation and technical integration.
In her role, she supports teachers, students, and administrators by managing digital ecosystems, coordinating professional development, and leading initiatives like the WOZ ED partnership and GaTECH collaboration. Whether it’s troubleshooting apps, organizing tech rallies, or building robotics programs, Zock ensures technology enhances learning and supports strategic district goals.
Her path into education was inspired by a desire to make a lasting impact, both through transformative moments and the small, meaningful interactions that shape lives. “Each day I spend away from my family is made meaningful by the opportunity to serve, support, and uplift people from all walks of life,” she shares.

With 22 years of service, Jennifer Wilkinson brings heartfelt dedication and deep experience to her role as Assistant Superintendent over Human Resources. Over the years, she has served at Potter Street Elementary, Elcan-King Elementary, and the Exceptional Services Department before stepping into district-level leadership.
In her current role, Wilkinson leads the district’s personnel operations. From recruitment and hiring to certification compliance, evaluations, benefits, and maintaining personnel records. Her goal is to cultivate a strong and supportive environment for both employees and students across Decatur County Schools.
Her love for learning began early and became the foundation of her career. “Becoming an educator allows me to share that passion every day,” she says. Though she began her journey in the classroom, she now continues her mission by supporting the people who make learning possible.
When asked what brings her the most joy, Wilkinson says it’s “recruiting, supporting, and retaining teachers who will inspire and empower students for years to come.” She believes that investing in people is the most powerful way to invest in students.
Her professional goals center on building a culture that values growth and connection, attracting high-quality educators, creating professional pathways, and ensuring that everyone in the system feels equipped and supported in an environment where they can thrive.

Director of Federal Programs, Assessment & Accountability
With 26 years of service, Chip Davis brings a deep commitment and wealth of experience to his role as Director of Federal Programs, Assessment & Accountability. He has worked at several schools, including Potter Street Elementary, Lillian E. Williams Elementary, and Elcan-King Elementary.
In his current role, Davis ensures compliance with all federal and state education laws, manages budgets across various Title programs, and serves as the Title IX Officer for Student Services. He also oversees all state-required testing as the System Test Coordinator and is the Accountability Officer responsible for accurate and timely data reporting.
Davis knew from the age of five that he wanted to become a teacher. His passion for education was driven by a desire to help children discover a love for learning and leave the classroom filled with knowledge.
As a proud alumnus of Decatur County Schools, Davis says the most rewarding part of his work is the opportunity to give back to the system that helped shape him. Looking ahead, his goal is simple yet powerful: to continue being the best he can be for the students, faculty, staff, and administrators he serves.
He hopes the community understands the complexities his department navigates in adhering to strict compliance guidelines and recognizes the behind-the-scenes work that supports student success.

With 23 years of experience in Education, Kaycee Wade serves as the Principal of Jones Wheat Primary . Throughout her career, she has worked at both John Johnson Elementary and JWP, bringing leadership and passion to every role she’s held.
As principal, Mrs. Wade oversees a team of 105 employees and is responsible for curriculum, instruction, data, discipline, scheduling, and more. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that “everyone can grow.”
Her journey into education began in high school, where she discovered a natural ability to connect with students. That connection turned into a calling to help children grow through education.
When asked about the most rewarding part of her job, she says it’s “making teachers and students happy” and knowing that even the tough days make an unseen difference.

Hobbies: Cooking, shopping, and spending time with family
