Congratulations to these outstanding educators for successfully completing their two-year Science of Reading professional development!
We are incredibly proud of the dedication they have shown to strengthening their knowledge of how students learn to read. Through this journey, they have gained powerful instructional strategies that will help support and grow strong readers in their classrooms for years to come.

A special thank you to our facilitators who helped guide and support this learning along the way: Mrs. Candance Rentz and Mrs. Sara Dollar (LETRS facilitators) and Mrs. Alicia Cloud (Georgia Literacy Modules facilitator). Your leadership and commitment to growing literacy instruction across our district is truly appreciated.

Your commitment to learning and improving instruction makes a lasting impact on our students. Thank you for investing in the success of every learner!

Connecting the dots (and the rivets) here in Dalton! 🛠️⚡️

A huge thank you to Georgia Power for jumping in today to help us grind down the rivets on our drive board. Safety is our top priority, and their expertise helped us get competition-ready in no time. As rookies from Bainbridge, GA, our theme—Building a Bridge to Beyond—isn't just a catchy phrase; it’s our reality. In a town of 14,500, starting an FRC team was a bold leap of faith. We know a robot doesn't move on code and motors alone; it moves on the momentum of a community. That’s why we were thrilled to have the Georgia Power team sign one of our "Gears." ⚙️

Why the Gears?
On (cy)BEARCATS Team 11214, every signed gear in our pit represents a vital connection heloing build bridges for our team:
Talent: The mentors who share their skills.
Treasure: The sponsors who make this possible.
Time: The families who support us every step of the way.

These signatures are the literal "teeth" of our drivetrain. We are so grateful for every gear we’ve collected during this build season and here at the Dalton tournament. Together, we aren't just building a robot—we’re building a bridge from a bold idea to the competition floor.

The [CY]BEARCAT FRC# 11214 rookie season is officially underway, and we just hit a massive milestone: by passing our very first robot inspection with flying colors! No rebuilds, no frantic wiring fixes—just a big green checkmark on the first try. Thank you to our incredible build team for their precision and to Mr. Kelley for guiding us through each of our FIRSTS building and engineering KitCat! We would also like to shout out all the support and help from Team 6919, the Commodores who have been with us each step of the journey--especially when we had hardware failure earlier in the build season.

Now the batteries are on the chargers, the code is deployed, and the team is hyped. We are officially ready to hit the field for our first-ever competition tomorrow!

Let’s go! You can watch the action live at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8htRkVNR3V0

We made it to Dalton! Huge thanks to the Commodores #6919 from Albany for the incredible mentorship. Whether it was fixing CAN malfunctions or refining our field strategy, they’ve helped us level up at every turn (even with the bumpy bumpers!).

It's time to put those bots on the field! Let's go!

The [CY]BEARCATS Code Team requires Logic, Lines, and Leadership 💻

It’s one thing to build a robot; it’s another thing to give it a mind of its own.

Our 11214 Code Team has been living in the lines, turning coffee and logic into movement to ensure our AUTONOMOUS mode is crisp and reliable, this team is proving that code is just as vital as chrome under the guidance of Mr. Lovering, FRC #11214 coach and mentor. His guidance has been the "compiler" for our success, helping our rookie programmers navigate the complexities of WPILib and real-time troubleshooting with a little help from our mentor team # 6919 The Commodores.

The logic is locked in. The code is deployed. Dalton, we’re ready to execute.

8th grade gifted and advanced content students from Bainbridge Middle School recently visited the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida. Students engaged in a high-level discussion on the principles and properties of magnetism before constructing and testing their own electromagnets. After analyzing the variables affecting magnetic strength, they observed liquid nitrogen demonstrations to understand how temperature serves as a critical factor in electromagnetism. The group was also introduced to ReBCO (Rare-earth Barium Copper Oxide), a cutting-edge superconductor and a key candidate for next-generation ultra-high-field magnets. The experience concluded with a tour of the facility, offering students a firsthand look at scientists in action and the real-world applications of their classroom curriculum.
